Departing Mazatlan for Baja, Punta San Telmo and Aqua Verde
June 2003
We left Mazatlan in mid-June and made the three-day, two-night passage
back to Baja, arriving in Punta San Telmo, a wonderful cove along a most
spectacular section of coastline. From there we went to Agua Verde, a
300-person village in this remote portion of Baja.

Manuel of Timbabichi. We've known Manuel for most
of our stay in Mexico. He lives in a particularly remote and
stunningly beautiful section of the Sea of Cortez coast, a place
with little rainfall and sparse life on land. Now sixty, he grew up
in Loreto (the largest nearby town), but has lived as a panga
fisherman in this place for the past forty years. I'm always mindful
of his resourcefulness and perseverance. |
